PUBLICATIONS

The most significant achievement of the Trust has been the publication in Polish of six volumes of The Home Army in Documents 1939-1945 (almost 2000 documents on 3000 pages). These volumes published from 1970 to 1989 remain to this day an important primary source of information for historians.

Organization of the Airlift of Supplies to Occupied Poland’s Home Army edited by J. Tarczynski relates in its form and content to the above mentioned six volumes.
Other books worthy of mention are:
The Underground Army by T. Bor-Komorowski and Kto ratuje jedno życie... Polacy i Zydzi 1939-1945 by K. Iranek-Osmecki. The last book has been translated into English and published in United States under the title He Who Saves One Life. Poles and Jews 1939 -1945.
The Polish Underground Movement (1939-1945) Study Trust 1947 – 1997. A brief history and guide to the collections, (in Polish with an extensive English summary) by A. Suchcitz (1997) was published at the 50th anniversary of the setting up of the Trust. This is a monograph which includes the history of the Trust and guide to the archive collections of PUMST.
An English translation from Polish of M. Ney-Krwawicz’s book entitled The Polish Home Army 1939-1945 appeared in 2001. This book is a concise and clear compendium of knowledge about the Polish Underground State written for the English-speaking reader.

FORTHCOMING PUBLICATIONS

Currently, at PUMST work is in progress on three publishing projects which are at a different stage of preparation.

A seventh successive volume of Documents is due to published in collaboration with the Polish Institute of National Remembrance. It is concerned  with the protocols of the Committee for Home Affairs of the Polish Government in Exile (KSK) [in Polish].

An album devoted to the Home Army and the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the Study Trust is being prepared in collaboration  with the “Karta” Foundation [in Polish and English].

A new edition of Harcerze Szarych Szeregów by J. Jabrzemski is in its preliminary phase. An English translation of this book is also envisaged.
